The Christmas Trees
As you may have already noticed, there are a lot of Christmas trees standing around Juno. Most of these trees are fully decked out and very pretty to look at --but one isn't. This one undecorated tree is located in the center of Randol City beside the fountain. It's the most important tree of them all. This main tree is the NPC you'll have to talk with to participate in the Christmas event.

The Christmas Tree Decorations
While you hunt, the monsters you kill may drop Christmas tree decorations. You will have the highest decoration drop rate when you are killing monsters that are white-named to you, so get ready to do some SP-farming. There are six types of decorations, all shown below.

Candy Cane

Christmas Star

These decorations are used to decorate the main Christmas tree. To decorate the tree, talk to it and select option 1, "Decorations for a Christmas tree." All of the decorations will be removed from your inventory and put on the tree. Don't worry about missing out on anything, these Christmas tree decorations are only good for giving to the Christmas tree. They don't recover HP or MP or buff you like other event items in the past have done.

Once a server's main tree is "fully decorated," the tree will change form and show all the decorations. Then there will be an announcement made to the whole server, telling the players to gathering around the tree. 5 minutes later presents will appear under the tree. You don't have to rush, each player is allowed to take only one present. The presents will stay under the tree until it has been fully decorated again, at which point it will spawn a different kind of present for everybody to take.

These presents will be in the form of candy canes. The candy canes all recover your HP and MP, but each candy cane type recovers a different amount. Here are the candy cane types:

Small Red Candy CaneSmall Red Candy Cane
Recovers 240 HP over 15 seconds
Small Blue Candy CaneSmall Blue Candy Cane
Recovers 120 MP over 15 seconds
Parti-colored Candy CaneParti-colored Candy Cane
Recovers 600 HP/MP over 15 seconds
Medium Red Candy CaneMedium Red Candy Cane
Recovers 500 HP over 15 seconds
Medium Blue Candy CaneMedium Blue Candy Cane
Recovers 240 MP over 15 seconds

Big Red Candy CaneBig Red Candy Cane
Recovers 750 HP over 15 seconds
Big Blue Candy CaneBig Blue Candy Cane
Recovers 375 MP over 15 seconds

As you can see, some are better than others. But they're all free, so who cares! :)

When in town and standing around the tree, I would advise you to remove all your armor and weapons, as well as get off your mount if you have one. Also, please do not set up a shop right beside the tree. This will help to cut down on lag, making things much easier and more fun for everybody.

The Gift Deliveries
Gift Delivery Maybe you've seen the Gift Delivery icon already. If you haven't, it is located in the upper left hand corner of your screen in the area where your buffs normally appear. The icon's description should be something like the one on the right. What does it mean? It's quite simple, actually. You see that in this shot my timer says 16hour 2 minute until I will receive a gift delivery. The timer is in game-time and starts at 24hour, then counts down from there. In game-time, 1 hour equals 2.5 minutes real-time. So the timer lasts for 1 hour real-time. Once the timer expires, a Christmas Gift Box will appear next to you, provided that you're outside of a town. Gift Delivery description

Christmas Gift BoxYes that's right! It looks like a *gasp* huge Pandora's Box! Attack the gift box to have a chance at receiving a special present from it. The Christmas Gift Boxes seem to work like the Halloween Pumpkins did, with a 75% chance of spawning a gift and a 25% chance of being a dud. Also, like with the normal pandora boxes, your box and your gift may be KSed if you're not quick. So be careful where you are when your Gift Delivery timer runs out!

The different types of presents are shown below:

The Gift Delivery timer only counts down while you are logged in. If you relog or teleport to a new map (including public dungeons) it will reset itself. So be careful about accepting those party recalls to unknown places -- you might get your timer reset. After your timer runs out and you receive and open a Christmas Gift Box, you will get a new timer.

The Holiday Cheers
Holiday CheerHoliday Cheers are temporary buffs that you may receive from the main Christmas tree. To get buffed, talk to the tree and select option 2, "You have received christmas cheer!" You can see the descriptions for the different Holiday Cheers on the right. Holiday Cheer descriptionHoliday Cheer description

Holiday Cheer timerWhen you receive the Holiday Cheer, you will also receive a second, matching icon. The second icon is a timer, put there to let you know how long you have until you may go and receive the Holiday Cheer again from the main Christmas tree. The timer's description should be something like the one on the left. This timer lasts for 1 hour real-time, or 45 minutes real-time after the Holiday Cheer buff has run out. When this one disappears, go talk to that Christmas tree again!

SpecSorc Getting other stuffs beside Santa's Hat 3 Jan 3 2009, 4:22 PM EST by Dgandalf

Hi all,
I really would like to know if there's any kind of trick to get other stuff beside Santa's Hat lol. It could be ksing the other's boxes, wait till two of them pops up, if that's possible. Cuz the most useful thing I could get up to now was that Grocer Ticket and that was just once. I'm even starting to believe that there's no Holiday Light nor Warehouse Ticket lol.
Actually I'd just like to know if I'm the only bad luck guy or it's happening with other players.

Are the candy canes we get from under the tree going to disappear at the end of the Christmat Event? I do not want to be stingy with them if they are going to disappear in a few days anyway.
