Choosing a server groupThis is a featured page

There are currently six server groups -- Katar, Cariae, Sarissa, Hatzring, Auzura, and Tairen. All six groups contain six subservers, which is the maximum allowed because of the way the server hardware is set up. Let's say you chose Katar 4 to start off with. Then you can play your character on any of the six subservers for Katar, but not on any of the other server. For each server group, subservers 1, 2, 3, and 6 are PvP-enabled, subservers 4 and 5 are PvP-disabled. Subserver 3 is labeled "Raid" for the raid system while subserver 3 is labeled "Newbie" for it has Elizabeth Buffs to help the new players out.

Katar is the oldest server group, publicly open since December 2006?. It is the most settled and has more players than any other server group, since it is the oldest. There are a good number of high level players, a dwindling amount of medium level players, and a moderate population of low levels. The economy is stable, though things are more expensive than on Hatzring. The most heavily trafficked servers are K1 and K5.

Cariae was opened in March 2007. It is best known for its heated guild rivalries. There are many high level players and a fair amount of low levels, but few medium level players due to a rash of power-leveling. The economic situation is similar to Katar's, but less stable because fewer medium-level goods are available. The most heavily trafficked servers are C4 and C5.

Sarissa was opened in November 2007. Due to heavy competition to get on the rankings when the server first opened, there are many extremely high and low level players. The population of medium level players is small, but growing slowly. Sarissa has always been under a near-monarchical rule by one leading guild. The economy is stable and keeps about even with Cariae's. The most heavily trafficked servers are S1 and S3.

Hatzring was opened in March 2008. It has a fair number of low level players, a quickly falling number of medium level players, and many high level players. The economy is still slightly cheaper than the other servers, but is catching up. The most heavily trafficked servers are H4 and H5.

Auzura was opened in January 2009. It is designated the "European" server because the events run on it cater to the European timezones instead of the American ones. The economy is still slightly cheaper than the other servers, but is catching up. The most heavily trafficked servers are A4 and A5.

Tairen is the newest server and was opened in December 2009.

You may play on any one of the six server groups. In fact, you may play on all of them! The only restriction is this that you cannot move characters between server groups. So, for example, if you create a character on the Cariae server group you may not play on the Hatzring server group with that same character. You may, however, take that character to any one of the six subservers under the Cariae server group. Once a character is created on a server group, it may access and move freely between all of the subservers in that group at any time you choose.

You are allowed to have up to four characters on one server group. After logging in and choosing your server group and subserver, you will be taken to your character loading screen. There, all the characters you have on that particular group will be displayed and you can choose one to play for that gaming session. To change to a different character, subserver, or server group, you must log out and back in again.
