The "hand" drops are part of the Warrior Blessing System that was added September 2007. There are four different types of hands, each with their own unique prizes. Hands come as single drops, but after a couple seconds (and some fist-clenching) they break open and disappear to reveal the special prizes inside.

When you kill a monster equal to your level, you have a 0.6% chance of receiving a hand as a drop. The type of hand you receive also has a defined percent chance. The farther below your level a monster is, the lower your chances will get. Monsters that more than 6 levels lower than you cannot drop hands for you. Monsters of higher levels also have a reduced chance, but this chance never completely goes to 0% like it does for monsters lower than you.
