Your pet's health, hunger, and sympathy may all be raised by feeding it raw materials. Different raw materials raise the different stats by different amounts.
IMPORTANT: To feed a raw material to your pet, equip your pet and double-click on the raw material's icon in your inventory.
Health -
Your pet's health is called its "Vital Power." The amount of health it has is displayed by the red-colored bar on your pet's status menu, which will be located right beside
your status menu when the pet is equipped. Your pet has 100 health points total. The red bar displays what percent of 100 health points your pet has. When the red bar is full, your pet is completely healed up and ready to face anything. When the red bar is empty, your pet will
die. Don't let that happen!
Your pet's health can be raised by feeding it herbs. There are three different kinds of herbs and each kind heals your pet a different amount. Learn about herb harvesting here. There is also a fourth type of herb, which is sold in the Item Mall. It's called an "Herb Flower" and will heal your pet's health 9 points. | Herb type | Pet health restored
|
Yellow Herb Leaf | Heals 1 health point.
|
Herb Trunk | Heals 3 health points. |
Green Herb Leaf | Heals 5 health points. |
Pets can be damaged by monsters as well as other players. Each attack on a pet will remove 1 health point. Even though 100 health points are a lot to burn through when the pet is only being damaged one at a time, you still need to watch its health carefully. Some monster types will gang up on pets, making its health drop from 100 to 20 faster than you can blink.
Only unmounted pets may receive damage. Mounts will not lose health unless you die while riding them (which kills the mount as well). Every time your pet levels up it will receive a full bar of health. If you see that your pet is about to gain a level, it's wisest to save your herbs and let your pet get auto-healed.
Hunger -Your pet's hunger is called its "Starvation." The amount of hunger it has is displayed by the yellow-colored bar on your pet's status menu. Your pet has 100 hunger points total. The yellow bar displays what percent of 100 hunger points your pet has. When the yellow bar is full, your pet is at 100/100 hunger and is totally stuffed (
not hungry). When the yellow bar is empty, your pet is starving. If your pet reaches 0 hunger, it will stop moving and its sympathy for you will begin dropping fast.
Your pet's hunger can be raised by feeding it stones. There are three different kinds of stones and each kind feeds your pet a different amount. Learn about stone mining here.
A fourth type of stone, called "Perfect Stone," is sold in the Item Mall. This type will feed your pet 10 hunger points. | Stone type | Pet hunger restored
|
Flawed Stone | Feeds 1 hunger point.
|
Imperfect Stone | Feeds 3 hunger points. |
Quality Stone | Feeds 5 hunger points. |
If your pet is a level that is lower than yours, its hunger will decrease by 1 point every 5 minutes. If it is a higher level than you, its hunger will start decreasing much faster. Look
at this forum topic for a chart showing how many hunger points your pet will lose every 5 minutes depending on the level difference between your pet and your character.
Both unmounted and mounted pets will get hungry. Fortunately, they do not get hungry when inside town. That's why people can sit around on their mounts all night in
merchant mode.
Sympathy -Your pet's sympathy determines the degree to which it is willing to help you out with its skills. For example, let's pretend that you have a level 2 pet and have taught it level 1 of the
unmounted skill called
Increased Armor. At 100% sympathy, your pet will give you the entire extra 20 physical defense points that level 1 of that skill is supposed to add. If your pet only has 60% sympathy, though, then you will get only 12 extra physical defense points. If your pet has 10% sympathy, you'll get 2 extra physical defense points. Because of this, sympathy becomes a very important factor once your pet learns skills.
| Your pet's sympathy can be raised by feeding it energy. There are three different kinds of energy and each kind raises your pet's sympathy a different amount. Learn about energy absorption here. | Energy type | Pet sympathy raised
|
Zeta Wave Energy | Raises 1 sympathy percent.
|
Epsilon Wave Energy | Raises 3 sympathy percent. |
Gamma Wave Energy | Raises 5 sympathy percent. |
All pets start out with 50% sympathy. For every 5 minutes that you spend outside of town with your pet equipped, its sympathy will automatically go up 1 point. If you have two pets, the sympathy of the unequipped pet will go down 1 point for every 30 minutes that you spend outside of town with the
other pet equipped. Sympathy levels will not change while you are inside town.
