PartyingThis is a featured page

Your party window may be accessed by hitting ALT+G or G. As you can see, there are quite a few different party-related icons.

The Equal, Precedence, and Combat icons are party types; the Leave Party, Kick, and Assign Leader icons are for party leaders to use; the Part List icon toggles the names/status' of the party members on the left-hand side of the screen; and the Party Auto Matching icon is a special feature that will help you find a party without having to actually be in visible range of the leader.
Partying - Last Chaos - Guides & Information

A "party" is a group of people who have joined together to fight. There are three main party types--equal, precedence, and combat. Note: All parties show the levels of players. This may have been introduce so that players cannot say there higher than what they are.

Equal partyAn equal party may be formed between players of any level, though if they are within radar range only the members within 15 levels of the highest level party member will benefit. If they are within 10 levels of the highest level party member, they will benefit even more. Those who are more than 15 levels lower than the highest level party member will receive next to nothing. These rules do not apply if the party members are out of radar range.

When party members are within radar range, Experience, Skill Experience, and gold is divided up equally per kill. Item drops are split up randomly regardless of their type or worth on the market.

When party members are out of radar range, they receive the maximum Experience and Skill Experience possible for monster kills of equal level. The Skill Experience number decreases when they kill monsters above their level, and both normal Experience and Skill Experience decrease when they kill monsters below their level.

Precedence partyA precedence party may be formed between players of any level, though if they are within radar range only the members within 15 levels of the highest level party member will benefit. Those more than 15 levels lower than the highest level party member will receive next to nothing. These rules do not apply if the party members are out of radar range.

When party members are within radar range, Experience and Skill Experience are divided up equally per kill. However, item and gold drops are given to whoever picks them up first.

When party members are out of radar range, they will receive normal Experience and Skill Experience--as if they were not in a party at all.

Combat partyA combat party may be formed between players who are within 15 levels of each other, though when fighting together party members must be within 10 levels of each other to get equal benefits.

When party members are within radar range and fighting the same monster, Experience and Skill Experience is divided up according to who does the most damage. If players in a combat party are within radar range but are fighting different monsters, then they will each receive the normal Experience they would have gotten if they were fighting alone, as well as a little "bonus" Experience from each of their party members' kills--but Skill Experience for every kill will be divided equally. (So they get all of the normal XP and half of the normal SXP for every one of their own kills.)

When party members are out of radar range, they receive the maximum Experience and Skill Experience possible for monster kills of equal level. The Skill Experience number decreases when they kill monsters above their level, and both normal Experience and Skill Experience decrease when they kill monsters below their level.

Party listIf you are in a party, selecting this icon on the party menu will toggle the list of party members on/off.

If you are a party leader, you may invite people to your party, kick people from your party, or assign a new party leader. To invite someone, click on them, open your party menu and select the icon that represents your party type. That will send an invitation to the person, which they can accept or reject.

Kick party memberTo kick someone from your party, click on them or select their name on the party list on the left-hand side of the screen. Then open the party menu and select this icon.

Assign party leaderTo assign a new party leader, click on the person you want to give the position to or select their name on the party list on the left-hand side of the screen. Then open the party menu and select this icon.

A confirmation message will pop up asking you if you are sure you want to appoint that person as leader. Select "Confirm" if you are, and select "Cancel" if you are not. If you select "Confirm," another message similar to the one on the right will appear. Hit "Confirm" again to finish the change of lead.

Leave partyTo leave a party, open the party menu and select this icon.

Party auto matchingThe party auto matching feature is newly implemented. This feature gives players a way to find a party for themselves without the hassle of standing in town and asking if anyone wants to join them. With the party auto matching menu, players can sign themselves up on a list of "available" people looking for partys, view the list of parties looking for members, or sign their own party up on the "available" party list. This wonderful feature is further discussed on the Party Auto Matching system page.

Now that you've read all of the above and know the basics of how a party works, you can look at the Party tips and tricks page for some more advanced tips--and tricks!

" If players in a combat party are within radar range but are fighting different monsters, then they will each receive the normal Experience they would have gotten if they were fighting alone "

Thats actually false, If you are in a Combat Party with someone within radar each fighting your own monster, you receive MORE Experience than if you were fighting solo. In combat party the more people on your radar while you kill your monster, the more "bonus" Experience you will receive, the actual percent increase in Experience for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 Combat Party Members on your radar is currently unknown as the experience verys from kill-to-kill as it does when you fight alone without solo, altho the lowest - highest amounts are much higher.

I have been in some parties and I got a message that the party type was changed to Equal for example. My question is how can the leader change the party type once the party was created?
Thanks for the help
