Knightmare Armor: as it stands, it is +6 armor of "Your" level. As purpleflame stated, an advantage to having it is you will always have a back up should you break a set of armor you are upgrading.

So...what are the advantages? +6 armor gives you an extra 500 pounds of carry weight on your character; helpful if you plan to stay out of town for a while. While the armor has no level, it is basically the same level as you. If you are level 6, it will be the same as having a set of armor, level 6. Yes, a little confusing, since at level 6 you would be wearing level 10 and 11 pieces of armor. It looks cool; so you can sport around town looking stylish, while everyone else just looks....so-so.

Disadvantages: KNIGHTMARE ARMOR CANNOT BE BLOODSEALED!!! Sorry, that one really bothers me, so I had to yell it. While being a good set of armor, you are lacking the additional bonuses that normal armor can provide you, through bloodsealing. Armor that you could wear at your level can actually be BETTER than your Knightmare armor, simply because of bloodseals. It cost a lot to make! Back in 2007 when I was frantically trying to find parts for my weapons (that I made for my toons on Cariae), I spent about 165,000,000 in gold; doesn't seem like much now, since the average player can make that in an afternoon. With that said, if players can make that much that fast, why is cost a problem? Well, figure that making weapons and armor from pet components is a bit like using a Heaven Stone; only with a 50/50 chance that it will pass/fail. There is a chance that all of that gold you worked to get,, and bought those parts with, will go to waste. Nothing is more heartbreaking than pushing the button, and getting the "Failed" message. At least with a Heaven Stone, you have a 33% chance on a fail that nothing happens; with pet weapons and armor, if you fail...you FAIL!!!
