When you process raw materials you will sometimes end up with "leftovers." These leftovers come in the form of powders. There are four types of powder:

Physical Attack PowderPhysical Attack Powder Physical Defense PowderPhysical Defense Powder Magical Attack PowderMagical Attack Powder Magical Defense PowderMagical Defense Powder

If you don't have any processing skills and let the Master of Processing Materials do your processing instead, he will give you back the leftover powders he receives while processing, along with your successfully processed materials.

These powders have the same names as the special Merac Castle Siege powders that are used for making Castle Siege accessories, but their icons and descriptions are different. Be careful not to get them confused!

The powders that are left over from processing attempts may be used to create minerals. Minerals are things you may use to temporarily increase your attack and defense stats. There are four different types of minerals and fourteen different levels of each type. The higher the level, the better a stat boost you'll get from the mineral.

Power BoxTo create minerals, you must buy a Power Box from the general merchant NPC. In Randol, that NPC is Merchant Geres. The box will require you to mix a powder, an accessory, and a smelting stone. The box's instructions call the smelt a "refining stone," but that's actually a totally different item.

The powder type will determine what mineral type you get, the level of the smelting stone relates to the level of mineral you get, and so far the accessory type used seems to have no effect on the resulting mineral.

The above numbers shown in grey are projected values. They will be checked when possible. The pattern appears to be that for powders level 11 and lower, a level x power will come from smelting stones in the level range: 5*( x - 1 ) to 5*x . And a level 12 power will come from smelting stones level 56 and higher.

McKong Obtaining Powder for making Minerals --physical attack and defense.- 1 Feb 21 2009, 1:53 AM EST by purpleflame

I must be doing something wrong or I'm not aware of a step. I'm lvl 25 and I'm interested primarily in making lvl 6 and 12 physical attack and defense Minerals. I've been advised that the Powder I need for making these minerals is an occassional "waste" product of processing Stone. Ok, so I gathered 1500 quality stones then headed to the Master of Processing Materials and began processing them, and ultimately gathered 25 each of Black Diamond, Diamond, and Agate, but not a single Powder was produced. Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong and how to do it correctly ? Many Thanks-- McKong
