Scra-chi and ichi revivingThis is a featured page

When your Scra-chi or Ichi dies, it becomes sealed. To be able to equip and use it again you must fist unseal it. Unlike Horses and Drakes, Scra-chi and Ichi pets cannot have the seal on them broken through fighting. Instead, you must revive them. Both the Archbishop and the Animal Trainer will revive your pet for you. These NPCs do not revive pets the same way, however, so the cost of reviving and the status of your pet once it has been revived is different depending on which NPC you use. The differences are discussed below.

Archbishop -
The Archbishop will revive your Scra-chi or Ichi at no cost, but once revived the pet will have only 3% of their max HP. After they have been revived you will have to finish healing them by using either Rough Bandages or Thick Bandages.

Animal Trainer -
The Animal Trainer charges a fee for reviving your Scra-chi or Ichi, but once revived the pet will have 30% of their max HP, instead of the 3% that the Archbishop gives. After they have been revived you will have to finish healing them by using either Rough Bandages or Thick Bandages.

While the fee that the Animal Trainer charges for reviving your pet is steep, in some cases with lower level pets it may actually be cheaper than using the Archbishop. Look at it this way: when using the Archbishop you must pay for enough bandages to heal your pet 97% of their max HP; when using the Animal Trainer you must pay for bandages to heal your pet 70% of their max HP. Use the equation below and the following table of revive costs to calculate which method of restoring your pet to 100% health is cheaper.

Archbishop:
(30% * 3) + (10% * 1) = Total
(19,900gold * 3 Thick Bandage) + (9,900gold * 1 Rough Bandage) = 69,600gold

Animal Trainer:
(30% * 2) + (10% * 1) = Total
(19,900gold * 2 Thick Bandage) + (9,900gold * 1 Rough Bandage) = 49,700gold + (Revive gold cost) = ?

purpleflame Only cheaper for level 1 pets 0 Nov 22 2008, 3:35 PM EST by purpleflame

Just a heads up. So assuming Rodgan's correction is correct, then using the Animal Trainer is only cheaper for level 1 pets. For level 2 pets, the Archbishop would effectively cost 69 600 gold while the Animal Trainer would effectively cost 69 732 gold. It is 132 gold more expensive which is pretty small, but the difference will only increase for higher levels.
